The price quoted by A2z Canopies includes both the delivery and installation of the canopy or carport. This ensures that there are no hidden costs, and what you are quoted is the final price you will pay.

If it is a supply only it will be clearly labelled.

All our canopies have been tested up to 2 tonnes of wind and snow load.

We have designed our products with durability in mind, ensuring they are robust enough to handle various weather conditions, including wind and snow. Our canopies and carports comply with the stringent UK Building Regulations for wind loadings (BS6399 Part 2 1997) and imposed loads (BS6399-3:1998), ensuring they meet high standards of resilience against such elements.

These specifications have been verified by independent structural engineers to confirm their strength and reliability in adverse weather conditions.

Additionally, the materials used, particularly the GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) beams and profiled sheeting, provide an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and durability. The design and materials used help in effectively managing environmental loads, including snow and wind, thus ensuring a long lifespan and sustained performance of the installations. We also offers a 10-year guarantee on on GRP Cantielver and Archway canopies, underscoring our commitment to quality and durability.

Each canopy has been completely tested in-house to ensure it can provide full protection when you need it most. That’s why we use Glass Reinforced Polyester to manufacture our canopies, because of its strength and reliability.

The canopies and carports are designed to withstand various weather conditions, including the cold and snow of winter months. They comply with UK Building Regulations for wind and snow loadings, ensuring they can handle significant environmental stresses.

The roofing sheets we use are fully compliant with the Building Regulations requirements for fire performance, tested SAB to BS 476 Part 3 and Class 3 Fire ratings. Moreover, because the sheeting is made from thermosetting GRP, it’s use is not constrained by the Building Regulations thermoplastic considerations. It also has a highly durable UV protective surface film.

Furthermore, the materials used, like the glass-reinforced plastic (GRP), are durable and have a high strength-to-weight ratio, which is crucial for enduring heavy snow and strong winds. A2z Canopies also provides a 10-year guarantee on their products, reflecting their confidence in the durability and functionality of their canopies even under harsh weather conditions.

So, you should be able to utilise your canopy throughout the year without concern for the weather impacting its structural integrity or usability.

When considering the installation of a canopy or carport from A2z Canopies, it's important to be aware of building regulations and planning permissions. Generally, such structures are classified under 'Permitted Developments', which typically do not require planning permission if they meet certain criteria, such as not covering more than half the garden or not being installed forward of the principal elevation facing a highway.

However, specific building regulations could still apply, especially if the structure could affect the main building's drainage or if it's intended for commercial use. For detailed guidance on what regulations might affect your installation, it's recommended to consult the official UK government manual on building regulations, or even speak with a local planning authority.

If you need more precise information or guidance tailored to your particular situation, visiting the A2z Canopies' website or contacting them directly could provide additional insights and help ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Maintenance

How can we maintain the gutters, windows etc above the Carport?

The carport is strong enough to walk on but we recommend you use a crawler board to evenly spread out the load.  Please ensure your own safety when on top of the shelter or using ladders and if possible have another person with you.

How do I maintain my canopy to ensure it lasts long?

Maintaining your canopy involves regular cleaning to remove dirt and debris, checking for any signs of wear or damage, and ensuring that all fittings and fixtures are securely in place. It is recommended to clean the canopy with mild soap and water and to inspect it seasonally.

To keep the Carport in pristine condition we recommend from time to time the following cleaning tips

  • Keep Gutters free from debris, i.e. fallen leaves to ensure water flows directly into the outlet
  • Any dirt or marks on the supporting beams can be removed using warm water with washing up liquid and a soft cloth
  • Build up of bird droppings or dirt on the roofing sheets can also be removed using warm soapy water
  • You may find it easier to use a long handled brush and a step ladder.  The carport is strong enough to walk on but we recommend you use a crawler board to evenly spread out the load.

Please ensure your own safety when on top of the shelter or using ladders and if possible have another person with you.
